Its all about pooh! Sorry guys
Ok...sorry for the title heading...

I walked Ruby this morning and as usual she done her runny pooh (only when she exercises) anyway, it was very green. Almost the colour of grass! Her first morning pooh at home was fine, the right colour and solid.

Any ideas??? Should I see the vet??? Am a bit worried, but if this is normal then I'll stop worrying.

Anal Glands
Hi Pashy

Yes we have encountered this at the same age as well. I think Ruby may still be having problems with her anal glands as this sounds like her emptying her pockets. Which is a good thing as it sounds like she is doing it herself. I dont think its anything to worry about oscars poo's sometime look a strange colour now and again especially when he is emptying his pockets its nasty and its always when he has been running around i think the running around stimulates them to empty the gland pockets.

Or the only other thing i can think of is she may have eaten something she should not have like grass or something in the garden believe me oscar eats anything he should not and you cant watch them all the time its impossible.
I really dont think its anything to worry about it does sound like the anal glands being emptied and its good that she is doing it herself. If you are still concerned give the vets a ring thats what i did with oscar and just explained to them what the problem is. See what she is like tomorrow if it happens again and it is still the colour it was then maybe ring them but to be honest it does just sound like the glands and when they are young there poo's are a funny colour sometimes but if her poo in the morning was a good colour then i dont think there is anything wrong just the glands! And they are nasty when they are emptied not something you really want to pick up lol. Kirsty :D

Tanks for that Kirsty

It certainly is not easy picking up sloppy poohs! Often think I should go out with a shovel instead of the pooh bag..dig a deep hole and bury it

Ill keep an eye on her for a few days anyway and see if there's any change before I go pannicking to vet and spending money thats not necessary.

Thanks zillions!
